I have to tell you, time is really flying. I can’t believe it has been so long since my last scholarship post. I’ve been up to my elbows in things, will make sure I don’t let it go this long in the future.
How’s your summer going? For some, it is coming to a fast close.
Have you taken steps forward in the recruiting process?
- Have you contacted coaches?
- Have you sent out your introductory packets?
- Have you sent updates to coaches you’re already talking with?
- Have you affirmed your interest in their programs?
- Have you updated your stats, if you’ve been competing this summer?
These are some of the things you must be doing this summer. It is not too late, even if you haven’t done anything. Coaches are in recruiting mode this summer, so feed them. They want to hear from you.
Here’s a story that amplifies the fact that it is not too late to get a scholarship, even if you’ve just graduated:
“Recent Beaumont High graduate Kayvon Khodadadi, Cougars Class of 2013, has accepted an academic-athletic scholarship package to attend UC Riverside and play baseball for the Highlanders beginning this fall.
“Kayvon hit .325 during his senior season, while leading the team with 2 HR and 21 RBI, and compiled an ERA of 2.64,” Cougars Athletic Director Martin DuSold said in an announcement.” [Banning-Beaumont Patch]
So let me encourage you to keep at it. Don’t lose heart and never give up. If you need direction, be sure to ask us.
