Is it worth pursuing a rowing scholarship? Are there enough teams and scholarships to make it worthwhile?  Absolutely, if you're a woman. In the NCAA there are almost 7,000 women rowing team members each year. And that's not even counting the NAIA and Junior Colleges. And there are nearly 2,000 men rowing team members each year.

Each of the 86 Division I women's rowing teams can offer 20.0 scholarships. Each of the 16 Division II women's rowing teams can offer 20.0 scholarships. None of the 42 Division III women's rowing teams can offer athletic scholarships, but it's common for them to offer non-rowing-related financial aid packages to rowers the coach wants to recruit.

There are no NCAA athletic scholarships for men's rowing. However, there are 23 Division I, 10 Division II, and 25 Division II men's rowing teams.
