Recruit-Me
Privacy Policy
We respect your privacy and security, and pledge to carefully guard any
personal information we get from you. We offer athletic scholarship information, resources
and services, all designed to help you run a successful campaign to get an athletic scholarship.
If we ask for information from you, we do so
only to allow us to deliver the services or products you are requesting.
We hate spam, and will never share any of your personal information with anyone else.
We don't sell or rent our customer lists to other businesses, so anything
you reveal to us stays with us.
What Information Do We Collect?
When you utilize the Recruit-Me website we collect information about you in
three ways: directly from
you,
from our Web server logs, and with cookies.
Information You Supply: If you request something from us, such as a
subscription to our eZine or access to our Free Stuff, we ask for your name and e-mail address
so we can electronically deliver what you've requested. If you make a
purchase from us, we ask for your name, address, e-mail address, and
payment information. We use this information to
process payment, to deliver your purchase, and to provide ongoing recruiting
hints and tips to help you get the most out of your purchase.
Server Log Information: When you visit the Recruit-Me website, your
computer's browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc.) automatically discloses certain information,
such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the time of
your visit, and the referring location (e.g., the Site or
page that offered a link to a Recruit-Me page).
The Recruit-Me web server, like most other websites, records this basic
information about visits to our site, but there is never any personal
information collected in our server logs.
Cookies: The Recruit-Me website uses cookies for several purposes
during your visits to our website.
- We record whether you were referred to our website by one of our
Recruit-Me affiliates.
- We keep track of any discount coupons or offers you're utilizing on
your visit.
- We record the contents of your shopping cart, allowing you to leave
and return later to complete your purchase without finding an empty
cart.
- We record who you are ONLY if you ask us to "remember you" so you
don't have to reenter your name and address every time you visit our
website.
A cookie is a common mechanism that allows a Web server to
store information about you in a tiny file on your own hard drive. The use of cookies is
relatively standard and you will likely find them used on
most major Web sites. Most browsers are initially set
up to accept cookies, but allow you to adjust your
browser to either refuse cookies or ask you when it receives a
request to store a cookie on your machine.
If you don't allow the Recruit-Me website to store a cookie on your
machine, our shopping cart will not work and you will be unable to order
from us using your computer. In that case, the only way for you to order
would be to phone our office.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
The privacy and protection of your personal information
is vitally important to us. Recruit-Me does not make
personal information available to any third parties without
your permission. When you purchase online, our third party
payment processor, CyberSource, uses a secure
server and SSL to protect your credit card number and other
personal information during the transmission.
CyberSource does not divulge any of your payment information, such as account
numbers or bank routing numbers, to anyone.
SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol
developed by Netscape for secure transmission of private
information over the Internet. SSL works by using a private
key to encrypt data that is transmitted over the SSL
connection. Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer
browsers support SSL, and web sites use SSL when users
transmit confidential information such as credit card
numbers. Web pages that require an SSL connection start with
https: instead of http. SSL uses 128 bit encryption
within the United States. For more information on SSL,
please visit the Netscape web site:
http://home.netscape.com/security/techbriefs/ssl.html
Who Has Access to the Information?
Recruit-Me will not willfully
disclose any individually identifiable information about you to any third party without first receiving
your
permission. When you are at the Recruit-Me website and are
asked for personal information, you will be sharing that information
only with Recruit-Me.
How Do You Correct Inaccuracies?
If you sign up for a service, such as the Recruit-Me
Newsletter, we may send you a confirmation e-mail confirming
your information. The message will be sent to the address
that you supplied us and will describe ways for you to
change or delete the information provided.
We welcome any questions or comments you have about the
Recruit-Me site; please direct them to
